I'm a little disappointed, as my hope with this post was explicitly to avoid emotional outbursts. I reasoned that if anyone out there *could* handle this situation, I'd have expected it to be someone like him. Therefore it follows that if he can't handle it for some reason we haven't yet identified, it's out of reach for basically everyone.
