Part 1: The Signal
There was a moment I knew something was wrong. I couldn't name it. I couldn't prove it. But my body knew.
It was a feeling in my stomach. A tightness in my chest. A voice that said "this isn't right" even when everyone around me said it was.
That feeling? That was the signal.
It's been overridden my whole life. By family. By church. By the system. By people who needed me to doubt myself so they could stay in control.
But it never went away. It just got quieter.
What the Signal Feels Like
When it's working, you feel clarity, expansion, empowerment. Questions arise. You want to think before deciding. Curiosity replaces certainty. Peace comes even when you don't have answers. Your voice gets louder.
When it's blocked, you feel confusion, contraction, dependence. Answers get forced. You're pushed to decide now. Anxiety fills the space of not knowing. Their voice gets louder. Yours gets quieter.
The First Time I Ignored Mine
I was young. Something happened. My body screamed. But no one asked. No one listened. So I learned to stop listening too.
That's what they do. They don't just silence you. They teach you to silence yourself.
But the signal doesn't die. It waits.
This Series
Over the next few posts, we're going to look at what overrode your signal, how to find it again, how to test what's true, how to trust your own power, and how to build with others who are finding theirs too.
If you've ever felt something was off but couldn't name it, this series is for you.
Drop a zap if this landed. Tell me in the comments: what was the first time you felt your signal but didn't trust it?
Next time: What Overrode It.
