The familiar names — GPT, Gemini, Claude — all run at roughly 100 tokens a second. There's a company called Cerebras (the biggest hardware company IPO in history): 10x faster starting at 1000 tokens a second (Codex Spark runs on this and a few other models - but don't bet on any Anthropic models running on it)
And then Taalas: a 100x faster, running at 14,000 -17,000 tokens per second.
What's fast today is going to be snail speed tomorrow;
