One of the things I never knew from school biology (and maybe was not known back then) is how much molecular machinery there is in cells. A machine to process MRNA in blocks of three symbols at a time via a mapping to proteins that fold to make new molecular machines in the cell. This is amazing stuff. It is evolution of the CPU and coding language in the cell. And is in every cell in every plant and animal. I am not sure we even know this evolved here or came on a comet! It is incredible!
