The Earl turned his attention back to Jirn and leaned forward slightly. “You admit you intended to use your knife upon him, to inflict a wound?”
“Not a serious one, m’lord! Just a cut, on his face, like, t’ teach ‘im a lesson!”
“And yet he is dead, by the knife you wielded.” He leaned back, sitting upright in the chair, the full force of his gaze bearing down on the prisoner. “You have stated that you intended to cause injury with your blade — and a man lies dead as a result. Now that you have admitted your guilt, you must pay the price.”
