Five STL problems that waste a spool before the slicer complains:
1. Wrong units. A 25 mm part exported in inches lands at 635 mm. Check the bounding box before anything else.
2. Non-manifold edges. Slicers guess, and they guess differently. Look for edges shared by more than two faces.
3. Flipped normals. Shows up as missing walls or a solid that prints hollow.
4. Walls thinner than your nozzle. 0.3 mm walls on a 0.4 nozzle just vanish.
5. Loose shells floating inside the model. Invisible in preview, expensive in filament.
Most of these are a two-minute fix if you know where to look. I put the checklist and fixes in a short guide: https://shopstr.store/listing/naddr1qvzqqqrkcgpzpcyq828fkw9un9t7h0zleltzca4tgfjlhyrvvm7t6gamhzj24s94qy28wumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnyv9kh2uewd9hsqyrgv4uxymmc94ehgmpdva6kjer9zenqmc
