A local BBS said it had message boards for "alternative lifestyles".
I didn't even know what it meant, except that it meant something to me.
I'm still here, ~35 years later, and I've long since figured out I'm various kinds of queer, as are most of the friends & chosen family I've surrounded myself with.
Here's to those who invent the circumlocutions & neologisms that reach people and show then who they could be.
