Either we, as in the EU, pass legislation against locking out users based on their choice of tech or we soon have internet access at the mercy of a few companies.
I think this is just the most blatant of a few recent similar moments (e.g. also DB blocking you if you have "Linux" in your UA – it's not only big tech). There is no tech solution to this. There is no "just use other products" solution – are you really supposed to switch your bank because they don't like your 2FA device?

Bizarrely the situation was significantly caused by big tech going wild on scraping in the first place, thus establishing that everybody scrapes like crazy.
