I'm re-watching Emissary. What a brilliant episode! "It is not linear." I had forgotten how much I loved Kai Opaka, the way she has one foot in the mundane and the other in the celestial temple, even though she's never been there. A leader of a post-colonial just-liberated state in chaos, who figures out political strategy while doling out wisdom and counseling to a foreigner who just turned up. Plus all the good stuff with Dax and with Chief O'Brien trying to fix Cardassian computers and saying goodbye to Picard. I like the scene early on where Sisko talks with Picard and he's just shaking with rage. But a while later we get the scene where Picard, the captain of the flagship of the Federation, takes the time to go say goodbye to his transporter chief, who clearly didn't think he was worth the captain's time. It's interesting how clearly the victims hold Wolf 359 against Picard, since he was under alien mind control at the time. My favorite part in this whole brilliant episode is the prophets unintentionally giving Sisko excellent counseling on loss. #StarTrek #StarTrekDS9
