Rather than getting upset and giving a speech, please give the references in a polite an educative way.
More importantly, give the conclusions, rather than just saying "lots of people thought about this, including myself, and published papers about this".
It is not like I am trying to invade your territory.
Science, including mathematics, is a social process, not an unsocial one.
