Accents are funny. Adam let the dogs in and there's been a bit of gentle rain so their paws were muddy. I'd also just boiled the kettle.

'Hold on a sec,' I said to Ella, 'I'm just going to pour the tea and then I'll clean your paws.'

And it made me smile because pour and paw rhyme in the accent I use, and I remembered the time we were going to an op shop and Adam suggested we go to the Community Paws one (run by the animal rescue group) and I heard 'Community Poors' and thought wow, they're really leaning into the idea that the op shop is for the lower socioeconomic groups, seems a bit pointed.

Because poor and paw (and pour!) sound the same, hahaha
