Hitchhiking to OFF

Day 3

Packing up the gear is becoming a routine now. Before us lay a 45 min hike to get across the highway and on a gas station that went towards Copenhagen.
We were greeted by some horses along the way and had wonderful views of the danish countryside.
This day should be the end of getting the same ride with two people.
Frist ride however was Alan who took Fidel and Me towards Odense. Alan is half danish, half American, works at a brick company and solves customer complaints. When I asked him what he likes doing, he answered: Taking naps with his younger child, telling us that it’s easier to become a dad when you’re younger. He dropped us off at a premium spot to go towards Copenhagen, yet hours later we couldn’t catch a ride together. It was hot, I was frustrated because I wasn’t used to waiting for a ride longer than 30min and finally agreed to send Fidel ahead with a truck driver that went into Copenhagen.
10 min later I had a ride myself with Brenda a nice lady who came back from Jutland through Fyn to go home to Sjælland. Since I was in a car and Fidel in a truck it didn’t take long until we passed them, putting a smug on my face.
Fortunately or unfortunately, however one may see it, Brenda didn’t go all the way to Copenhagen which and dropped me off at a small but sweet Rastplats near Slagelse.
Within two minutes I had met Francis and Nadine, a couple from Le Mans, France who were taking their camper van up north to visit the north cape. When I heard they were going across the Øresund bridge and around Malmö, I decided to cancel the plan of going into Copenhagen for the night and instead continue my journey towards Oslo.
I had the chance to freshen up my French and left their car close to Helsingborg with an apple, a banana, a baguette avec fromage and many best wishes for my journey.
I was in flow now, because I was finishing my baguette in Artirs car. He was going to visit a girl in Halmstad, and happy to take me along the way. He works for his families business which also did something with bricks and was on the phone with the girl he was about to visit for most of the drive which felt kinda odd.
I was getting hungry when he dropped me off, so I went into the gas station and asked for anything that was about to be trashed. Turns out the guy trashed two Pizzas 15 min ago and was able to resurface 3 slices, which were still warm and tasted perfectly.
With a filled stomach and a smile on my face I met John, who wore a dirty hoody and gave me some PewDiePie Vibes. He was driving a truck all the way to Kungsbacka and happy to take me. I slowly watched the sun set over the highway while sourcing options for potential sleeping spots that night. Neither seemed perfect, so when John offered me to take me to a gas station that was on the highway towards Gothenburg I willingly agreed.

At this gas station the story turns a little more crazy, read about it in Part 4.
