I’ll try to think of a podcast that I think had an episode about this.

I remember it covering the beginning of records, which put people out of work as radio stations now played recorded music instead of live. (Might be remembering incorrectly, maybe it was cinema or pubs).

Hopefully this jogs someone else’s memory.
