Pretty much *anybody* would have seen benefit in syaing "oh, I was wrong about that!" and moving on but he didn't even do that.
I thought Smith's face was interesting too. Something relaxed when he realized what was going on, but no smirk, just lawyer-face... but ... none of the discomfort with the "were you in Atlanta" spiel.
It's *creepy* though that everybody's laughing, but Schmitt is still doing exactly the same posturing.
