The thing about "realist," "moderate" #Democrats is that they have a notion of reality that is out of synch with reality. They worry that "identity politics" and "extreme policy stances" will turn off the electorate.
Friends, the U.S. electorate put an extremist whose whole schtick is identity politics in the White House. Twice. People who never voted before voted for Trump because he promised something very different.
