after reading The Book of Elsewhere (Reaves and Miéville), which was good but different, I'm enjoying her more conventional prose style … it's easy to read, and engaging, but I keep putting it down, I'm not sure why. Maybe it's the allegory of misogyny that just wears me out, being too close to sad reality. But I persist!
