Interesting thing - in 2016 I had purposely isolated myself to the point that I rarely hung out with friends and mostly did my own thing.
It was one of the best years of my life. I did a lot of things and they were all things I wanted to do with no interference. This is how I know Alvin Tan is full of shit when he says solo travel sucks. No it doesn't - it's great ! You literally have time to do and see whatever you want limited only by hours, daylight, etc.
I even came up with very clear and specific goals for my life that if I had stuck with them I would be in a better place now. But then 2017 came and I got seduced by my now ex-gf and it derailed everything. When we broke up I had depression again and lost sight of my goals.
And yes all my friends now are married and so they pressure me to have a regular GF so I can hang out with them. But why? The only use I would have for that is to start a family but it's a dilemma - I only like cute younger women and none of them want to have children soon. Typically the more educated set of women - i.e. the type that doesn't date homo erectus - don't want kids until 30+, it's in the data.
So yes, people will complicate your life needlessly.
