Thanks for the rec! I'll try that some time.

Usually for me the serving bowl is the cooking pot: for ramen I go real minimal effort and boil water in a kettle, and just pour it over the noodles and soup base in my bowl, wait five minutes, and then shovel the noodles into my mouth as fast as my chopsticks will let me. I am very sophisticated and well-mannered.

Your suggestion definitely sounds better, and worth dirtying a second pot, though.
