What are my options for previewing and testing changes to an RSS feed locally before publishing it? Not just checking that it's a valid feed but that the content will render as intended. Even better would be if I could check that something like atom: updated elements will work properly.

Yesterday I used XSL to style a feed to preview it in the browser. That showed me how HTML would render, which is something. It had some drawbacks so it didn't give me a lot of confidence in it for predicting how the feed will behave in a feed reader. Straightforward enough for basic content checks though.

Anyway, using XSL to style an RSS feed is kind of neat: https://cassidoo.co/post/prettify-rss/
