"content": "The pinyon jay researcher came by today to set up a trap, to get the jays used to it. Doesn't seem to be a problem, several jays went under it pretty quickly to investigate the sunflower seed bonanza.\n\nI hope, when the trap finally gets sprung, that it doesn't cause all the pinyon jays to avoid my yard forever. And I especially hope it doesn't scare off my local scrub jays. Could happen, corvids are smart. A risk I'll take for science, I guess.\n\n#ornithology #bird #birds #corvid\n\nhttps://cdn.fosstodon.org/media_attachments/files/117/435/848/385/032/838/original/5706e70b847acd55.jpg",
