OMG‼️Kylian Mbappe has really stepped into a very large pile of💩this time. He’s managed to piss-off the entire Chinese nation - from the government down to the regular folks. It’s kinda a convoluted story, but for those who haven’t heard…there are a lot of Mbappe memes depicting the famous #football star as a dictator. He does score lots of goals. So there are lots of memes. Recently he mentioned his favorite was one depicting him as what he described as a “Chinese dictator”. Innocent enough, no? Well, the depiction in the meme made him out to look a lot like the late Chairman Mao, father of the current Chinese regime, national hero, and spiritual guide to the nation. Way to offend an entire country, dude😬 So yeah, the fallout has been fast & furious. Mbappe plays for Real Madrid in La Liga. The league makes @ $100 million/year from the Chinese market, so they followed up Kylian’s very quick apology with a groveling statement of their own. Drama in the #Sport world. #GeoPolitics #China #futbol #Mbappe
