When your brain has been fried by watching TikTok many hours a day, your dopamine levels are completely messed up. That creates a problem because school is very much the opposite - there are no fast dopamine hits by studying math or reading a book. It requires discipline to sit your ass down and study math (or whatever subject it might be).
