This explains a bit why we express different views.
My definition of profit is a delta between the purchase cost and the realized price.
Also I define corruption differently, corruption for me is abuse of delegated power in benefit of the corrupter or subjects connected to the corrupter.
A contrario, misusing one's own funds or resources is not corruption, rather, I simply call it a personal transaction or a trade if consensual between two or more subjects.
