Perhaps because they know that the BBC are obsessed with Farage and that they know that the combination of all this publicity and our FPTP (un)democratic system, makes Reform their principal opposition?

You'd think that Labour might simply change the electoral system to a form of PR, but that wouldn't fit their rightwing stance.

OK, slightly tongue-in-cheek but there is an element of truth in there, that PR would completely neuter the possibility of a Reform majority.
