We've had more nocturnal visits by deer, who leap over the fence in spite of the anti-deer additions to it & inevitably drop ticks in the garden.
Today's wash day. I took a basket out to hang in the sunshine, & hung it out, then turned the basket upside down.
Five ticks were crawling on the underside..
No wonder we've lost count of the tick bites this year.
Nothing to be done except hope for a hard winter.
(We know about Lyme disease, and our local medical practice is good at spotting it early.)
