I asked Claude to project the future of EV charging power.
EV charging went from 50 kW in 2011 → 120 kW in 2017 → 250 kW in 2021 → 350 kW in 2024. That's the current consumer peak.
500 kW is coming by late 2026, still rolling out. But BYD already has 1 MW prototypes running in the real world, so things might move faster than expected.
Trucks and buses are already in the 1.2 MW range, so yep, should come soon for EV cars as well.
