"content": "Food Adventures Continue!\n\n\n\nDessert edition!\n\n\n\nIceland is represented by Vínarbrauð (Viennese bread). These are delicious and illustrative of the challenge of finding recipes that are both “authentic” (however problematic that phrase is) and tested. So many recipes are clearly written by lovely folks, dear to my own heart, who eye-ball amounts, who cook by feel. However, this is chaos when you are cooking a dish for the first time and don’t know the feel. For example, “roll into rectangles 10cm wide” but no indication of thickness, length, or how many the recipe should make! Of course, if you made these every Sunday, you’d know these things. They were not, however, included in the recipe. This adventure has reinforced my appreciation for cookbooks and the style of writing that includes such details. That said, these were amazing rocket fuel for my long run on Sunday and I have an incredible supply of them!\n\n\n\n#AroundTheWorld #CulinaryAdventures #Cooking #Iceland #Food #Dessert\nhttps://pixelfed.de/storage/m/_v2/494883068650502286/9a26d276d-23d3a8/Oc9Y6KB5JeKN/uO1RjARbFSAOxxYmud3v541rKZhGn80x7sId0I8P.jpg\n",
