#ScribesAndMakers Aug 7. Is there a work of art that you didn't like at first but came to appreciate once you understood it better?
Not a work of art, but a genre. I didn't *get* rap for a long time. I was a kid when it first appeared, and it wasn't designed to speak to me, a white kid from Canada*, so I just never really figured it out until I watch a documentary that explained the aesthetic appeal (the vocals *are* the percussion and the wordplay is the delight).
