When politicians say that this is a price worth paying, you can be sure its not them paying the price.
So it follows that while US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent tells the BBC a 'small bit of economic pain' is worth it for the world to be rid of Iran as a security threat, he's not the one whose standard of living is hit, nor whose job will disappear (well his might, but I doubt it will impact his finances).
Its a hollow rhetoric masking inequality!
