More than 38,000 women and girls have been killed in #Gaza since October 2023, according to a report by UN Women, which highlighted the scale of civilian losses during the war.
Speaking in Geneva, UN Women’s Chief of Humanitarian Action, Sofia Calltorp said the figures represent an average of at least 47 women and girls killed every day, while the true toll is believed to be higher due to bodies still trapped under rubble.
