The company was awarded the billion-real contract to build the Santos–Guarujá tunnel in the state of São Paulo.

The federal government contributed R$2.6 billion toward the tunnel’s construction, which is part of the so-called Novo PAC. The project was also partially financed by the São Paulo state government, which contributed an additional R$2.7 billion.

The total investment is estimated at R$6.8 billion under the public-private partnership model.

According to Roberta Luchsinger, the contractor secured the contract because the company’s president in Brazil, Amauri Rodrigues Pinha, is a friend of Fábio Luís Lula da Silva.

Also according to Roberta Luchsinger, the two were neighbors when Lulinha lived in Brazil.

According to Luchsinger, the two met frequently to discuss business, including at her own home.

In the interview, Roberta Luchsinger said she intends to enter into a plea bargain and that she has additional details to share that are not in the WhatsApp messages.

The businesswoman, who presented herself as a business partner of President Lula’s son, also said she is receiving threats and that, if anything happens to her or her daughters, Lula is responsible.

“I want to make it clear once again: if anything happens to me or my daughters, Lula is to blame,” says Luchsinger.
