I don’t know what the German public has been told about this, but this is what the mainstream populist outlet #Ynet wrote today:

Most media here can’t even report the news without editorializing to make it sound false, wrong or antisemitic. Readers’ comments are equally vulgar. The media tell them that AP, of all organizations, is supposed to verify the evidence presented in a fully sourced report, including witness testimony, satellite imagery and more. Talk about clutching at straws.
