tl;dr: Zuck and his lieutenants lusted after replacing huge numbers of his employees with #AI. They were planning mass layoffs, until it was obvious at the last minute that AI couldn’t do the job they thought it could. Zuck cancelled the second wave of layoffs, but the damage to employee morale was extensive.
