When I ran a polling station in Kosovo we were told during our training that "family voting", where the husband and wife go into the booth together, was not allowed.

But if a voter was illiterate, they were allowed to choose some other voter from the queue to go into the polling booth with them and help them read the ballot.

So, we were told, we would see women claiming to be illiterate and choosing their husbands to help them read the ballot, and that there was nothing we could do to stop this.

That was what the training said ... but I don't recall witnessing any instances of this actually happening.
