Someone is coming to visit me from the Western Hemisphere who was adamant about the Imperial System of measures, and so naturally I've been brushing up my arguments and sharpening my fangs. This debate has run through our entire lives. However the more I read about the 24-hour day and 12-month year and 60-minute hour and 60-second minute, the more their argument of human scale is self-evident. Like the French Revolution, I may just have to cede regarding useful measures of time. Touché.
