yep, those screenshots are more like Ultima VIII. The gap between pre-release and IX is massive... completely different worlds of immersion. Loved both, but VIII has a special place in my memories. Inevitably the game engine from pre-alpha had to be scrapped, which led to an emotionally painful delay between releases.
