While I appreciate the genuine nuance to his analysis I also sense a palpable fear of being judged by peers who also see the net negative of GenAI, & that saddens me. I say that as someone who is also cognizant of all the negative aspects both inherent to the technology and to the forces that lust after its alleged promise.

I'm also saddened that he accepts at face value that these tools violate copyright. I think he confuses human emotion with legal fact, yet undetermined.
