White hat hacker berhasil mengamankan 52,37 BTC dari eksploitasi COLDCARD dan memindahkannya ke alamat Crypto Recovery Trust, yang disiapkan untuk proses pengembalian dana kepada korban.
Menurut Galaxy, dana tersebut berasal dari sejumlah alamat yang terdampak eksploitasi dan kemudian dikonsolidasikan ke alamat khusus untuk proses pemulihan. Jumlah 52,37 BTC ini setara sekitar 2,9% dari sedikitnya 1.778,84 BTC yang sebelumnya dilaporkan dicuri dari lebih dari 8.600 alamat.
Eksploitasi COLDCARD dikaitkan dengan kelemahan pada proses pembangkitan private key yang menghasilkan tingkat keacakan tidak memadai. Kondisi tersebut memungkinkan penyerang merekonstruksi private key tertentu dan mengambil Bitcoin dari wallet yang terdampak.

🟠 White Hat Hackers Recover 52.37 BTC from COLDCARD Exploit
White hat hackers have secured 52.37 BTC from the COLDCARD exploit and transferred the funds to the Crypto Recovery Trust, which was established to facilitate the return of recovered assets to verified victims.
According to Galaxy, the recovered Bitcoin came from several addresses affected by the exploit and was consolidated into a dedicated recovery address. The 52.37 BTC represents roughly 2.9% of the at least 1,778.84 BTC previously reported stolen from more than 8,600 addresses.
The COLDCARD exploit was linked to a weakness in the private-key generation process that resulted in insufficient randomness. This allowed attackers to reconstruct certain private keys and withdraw Bitcoin from affected wallets.
