I tried this Google search. I got the same wrong answer (3.18 inches = 1/8 inch).
So I clicked the “Show More” option, and it pulled up a scan of a unit conversion chart that has (correctly) 3.18 *millimeters* = 1/8 inch.
Utter garbage from what used to be a premier source of basic information online.
