Yes, of course. If the winds were like they were in Edmonton, they were extreme & sudden. I was out in the garden & the wind just roared. Complete weather switch in minutes.

But, wind gusts up to 80km/hr had been in the weather forecast (at least in Edmonton), even if a weather alert wasn't sent out until it started. So, I'm sure the military will be assessing their standards for when to call off an operation due to weather.
