the rsync maintainer used Claude to fix some security vulnerabilities since nobody is helping him. but thousands of people dogpiled on him for using AI. people shouting at someone who is giving them free stuff is absurd and disgusting.
my conclusion is that he should not have been transparent about his AI use.
