See, corporate, commercial, and fascist aid to scientific research is perfectly fine. It's only a thousand times worse than any government research ever done, and private to boot, with any actually useful research being suppressed until the day they figure out how to make a profit from it. But who's counting! No, all we need to do is stop that nasty, nasty NASA from doing any space stuff. Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos will surely be completely trustworthy and not grind civilization down to dust around their exploding rockets. Thank you Ted Kaczynski for helping ensure that they would have a monopoly on that, such that the federal government was afraid to interfere!
