Dear Senator / Representative:
It is time for Secretary of Defense Hegseth to resign, be fired or be impeached. I am asking you to actively seek his removal.
Signalgate: by using his personal phone in a Signal chat, Hegseth “created a risk to operational security that could have resulted in failed U.S. mission objectives and potential harm to U.S. pilots.”
Illegal strikes on small boats: there is no legal standing for the United States to be indiscriminately bombing small boats in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific.
The murder of two survivors floundering in the water after a small boat bombing on Sept. 2, 2025: This is the response of a man who treats brown lives as though they were disposable.
His childish responses on social media: Hegseth shared an image of Franklin, a children’s cartoon character, shooting people on boats from a helicopter. This is a copyright violation, it is a sign that he is not serious about being a leader, and it is behavior unbecoming to an officer of the United States.
Hegseth lacks the temperament, judgment and ethics to lead the Department of Defense. Please make this point loudly and clearly throughout the holiday break as you hold town halls and speak to local media.
