I have passed along your message. He has deployed to a location in BC on a 4 person “initial crew”. The least dangerous. Apparently there are 4 types of crews: initial attack crews, responsible for putting out 94% of new fires, unit crews made up of 20 person teams, specialized in sustained attack ops. Rapattack crews, 3 person initial attack crews come in by rappelling from helicopters, and parattack initial crews, small teams that parachute from choppers. https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/safety/wildfire-status/wildfire-response/wildfire-personnel-and-response-tools/wildfire-crews
