What's a situation where you feel a ';' definitely works better than a '.' ?
When the thoughts expressed by the clauses are independent and could be complete on their own, but I want to convey that they are closely related. In short, like a few others in the feed, I follow the rules of grammar on this one.
I feel like semi-colons only feel mysterious to some because we weren't taught them in school. I wasn't, but looking them up just made everything so much clearer.
