possible yes. It just seems to me that if it were such a widespread cause, it would be quite obvious in the data that already exists.
But maybe that's overly optimistic. Anti-fat bias in science and medicine is about as prevalent as sexism and racism probably, so it's going to be a blocker and stop people asking useful questions. Not deliberately, but a frame of mind/perspective problem.

I do agree framing 'obesity' (dislike the term itself not particularly scientific) as only ever a cause of symptoms and not a symptom itself of other things has stalled progress and needs re-evaluating.
