So 10 days ago (last Sunday) I had a bizarre accident going down a slope after a peak. I've created an accurate simulation for visual aid. Everything happened quickly and yet in slow motion. I stepped on a 90ish pound rock the size of a small end table and it rolled over with me pinning my foot then bowling me down. I intentionally fell sideways to minimize how much of me it rolled over. I also tucked my arms in and sort of balled my core so it would keep rolling off me. Really spooked me, foot swelled quickly. I tightened my boot, limped 1.5 miles down to trail then the remaining 5.5 miles to the trailhead. I startled a couple while dirt napping in the dark at a trail junction. I insisted I was fine but accepted a pile of Ibuprofen. Been r.i.c.e'ing and the swelling and pain is down but xray shows inconclusive bone fracture so the doc wants me staying off my feet till he sees me Monday. He's being cautious. Doesn't feel any more than a rolled ankle, but we'll see.
