I do send a very few people to online resources like Free Software Foundation (npub167r…p2re), Free Software Foundation Europe (npub16xn…g7f8), Privacy Guides (npub1dm2…7754) and SimplifiedPrivacy.com (npub14sl…t5d6), but most people I know have zero interest in learning anything tech-related much less the philosophy behind it!
My chief strategy is that I have something to offer: I'm a teacher and run classes/courses (many of them free) for kids and adults, and I only do them on #Jitsi, #Signal, etc.
Even if they pay fees, I say that Zoom, Whatsapp, etc. are off the table.
I think all of us with stuff to offer that people need are in a great position to onboard new users to #FOSS alternatives, especially if people realise there's money to be saved :)
