If you admit you are in pain and want painkillers in a hospital, they will assume you are faking pain to get drugs. Always.

The only time that doesn't apply is if you've been admitted and in the hospital bed for a time and have a regular doctor attending you.

Emergency room? Yeah, you can admit you are in pain, but decline the drugs.

I was much more worried about whether or not it was related to my other problems anyway.

So I went home and suffered.
