The platform was advertised as "you choose what kind of algorithm you get posts served with", but the developers and leadership? They have been full in on AI shit from **the start**
Assholes about it, too. Lead dev and CEO going on mocking those who are against AI, proudly saying how they are making it and The Protocol through Claude and all that shit.
The developers, the leadership, they were cryptocurrency and NFT shitheads before getting to make that website. And they fucking **hate** the userbase they got.
They wanted cryptochuds, polite nazis, quiet compliant libs.
They deferred to ai shit for moderation from THE START.
They VERY RELUCTANTLY allowed for manual tagging of adult material after so many complaints that the automated one does not fucking work. And it still does not fucking work.
This platform was never about "no ai"
Many users do not want it, but come the fuck on.
This place is vibe coded.
It is a compelling narrative, that many of us went there because "it was safe from ai"
It was because twitter got intolerably bad. It was just twitter 2, simpler to use than masto. You should not put all your social contact eggs in one basket.
It is not a good platform.
Its devs ain't your friends.
But yeah. Diversify.
Do not depend on a single space.
If you are there? Get your ass on a masto instance as well.
If you use telegram? Get on signal and use it as a secondary chat/point of contact.
Hell, discord? Get on fluxer/fluxfur, do something. Diversify.

There are alternatives, and the point is you should not depend on a single spot for your socialization and spaces.
Contact your friends and communities out of single platforms.
